On 11th of February 2021, Taylor Swift made an announcement on Good Morning America stating that she’ll be releasing a new rerecording of her Grammy award winning album “Fearless” on 9th April 2021. This album will contain 26 songs and 6 songs that were never released before.
Along with this Swift also added another exciting news that she’ll be releasing the new rendition of her hit song ‘Love Story’ at midnight today.
Why Taylor Swift Is Rerecording Her Sophomore Album
It’s questionable by everyone who’s not knowing or following up about Taylor Swift’s career that why a re-recording is done of her album that was released 13 years ago. This is because she does not have the right or own any of her master recordings released before her 7th studio album ‘Lover’.
After a very long dispute with the music producer, Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records, Swift decided to use a different path to claim her music recordings. Hence she decided to re-record her previous songs and thereby regain the right and control of her work. As it’s a “new version” of her initial releases it does not breach her past contract.
Taylor Swift expressed her gratitude towards her fans by mentioning in a statement that
“this process has been more fulfilling and emotional than I could’ve imagined and has made me even more determined to re-record all of my music”.
With the rerecording of “Fearless” album this year, Taylor Swift also decided to release two sister albums, “Folklore and Evermore” along with that. The recordings of these albums were done in the quarantine period. And finally it’s possible to clearly say that Taylor Swift never fails to amaze her fans when creating her music.
