Hafthor Bjornsson claimed he “wouldn’t say no” to a battle with boxing icon Mike Tyson if the chance arose. Bjornsson is presently feuding with another former strongman Eddie Hall, and the two are due to fight next year. The two World’s Strongest Man champions were scheduled to fight on September 18, but Hall was forced to withdraw due to a separated bicep. In his third exhibition battle, Bjornsonn, also known for his role as ‘The Mountain’ in Game of Thrones, will face Canadian arm-wrestling veteran Devon Larratt.
Despite his lack of boxing expertise, Bjornsonn has stated that he would be willing to face Tyson, one of the sport’s all-time greats. He said to The Sun: “I wouldn’t say no if Mike Tyson wanted to fight me.
“I’d be honored to be a part of his power.”

Last November, Tyson returned to the ring in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr., which ended in a split draw. With a 23-year age difference between them, the Icelander’s youth would counter his enormous experience advantage over Bjornsonn. But, despite admitting that he was frightened when he first started boxing, Bjornsonn does not appear to have Tyson’s vicious streak.
“The first few times I was ready to fight, I would feel worried because I knew I was going to get punched in the face, which isn’t very nice,” he continued.
“The more I do it, the less anxious I am; now I’m more excited than nervous because I like it.”
“My main motivator is that I don’t want to be the man laying on the floor.”
